Do you think the Pledge of Allegiance is wrong?

I am an Athiest and I always hated that in elementary and middle school they made us say the pledge of allegiance. Most of it I don’t mind but I hated that we had to say “under god”. What happened to the rule that you couldn’t mix religion with school. Does anyone else think they are wrong for making kids recite the pledge?

I find the entire pledge wrong, not just the “under god” part. I will not pledge my allegiance to a piece of cloth or to a state, especially one that becomes more and more oppressive with each passing day. We are not indivisible, we are deeply divided, and liberty and justice are begrudgingly dispensed to the few who can afford them.

I would, however, support a more honest pledge, like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2BfqDUPL1I

You are hardly alone! This is one of the most insidious examples of religious indoctrination by government. If you say it, you are training your subconscious to link belief in a god with your commitment to your nation, and if you don’t, you are accused of having no commitment to your nation. It’s a classic lose-lose situation for the non-believing child.
